Matthew Donovan has been playing and creating music since his father bought him a drum kit at the age of eight. Not long after that he got his fingers on some piano keys, and at fifteen he first played guitar on stage at CPI's in the Hamptons. Later that year he preformed with Big Time Sara at Blues on Halsted in Chicago. At sixteen Matt was mentored by Alvin Lee, who nicknamed him The Tricks Kid. Matt would go on to learn the nuts and bolts of the business from behind the stage working with Jam Productions and UpStaging. In the 1990's Matt created Ghost Studios in Palm Beach with his Korg Triton and custom built computer. Working with DynamixII, New School Breaks, Clarence Clemons, The Fabulons, as well as opening for The Temptations, and Four Tops, along with projects with Oprah, Burt Reynolds, Evel Knivel, and his brother Paul. Today, with a big new custom built supper computer Matthew and his brother are partners in Gulf Stream Records. Together they are building musical dreams one song at a time...
Paul Donovan, like his brother Matthew has been playing harmonica, piano, and singing from a young age. After serving several years in the U.S. military behind the Iron Curtain in Berlin Paul returned to Chicago and started working in consumer/political market research. In the 1990's he worked on musical projects with Matt, and began producing commercials as well as the dreaded infomercial. Later he would go on and work for many years as a TV producer with Leonard Ninoy, Mariette Hartley, Connie Sellecca, Robert Urich, and more. Paul is a cancer survivor, who like many, reevaluated his life during recovery. During that time congress passed the Music Modernization Act, and seizing on the opportunity together with his brother they created the three Gulf Stream companies. Paul is also a prolific song writer with over two hundred and fifty works in his archive. Today they are making the best of COVID video conferencing and exchanging Stems with artists as well as each other, thoroughly enjoying the collaborative process. And, together they are building musical dreams one song at a time...
